I have asked a seller to post an item by Royal Mail which cost £5 extra.
The seller has asked me to send by PayPal, which I do not have.
The seller has said not to worry about the additonal £5
However, I feel bad about the extra expense and inconvenience I put the seller to and would still like to pay the £5.
I originally paid by credit card.
How can I send the additional money as I do not want the seller to be out of pocket.
Thanks
You may have paid by card but it had to be processed by paypal. Very few sellers are able to take card payments direct as they have no means of processing the cards, and that is where paypal comes in.
Paying a seller direct would involve giving card details including the three digit number on the back of the card to an unknown person over the phone or online with no Money Back Guarantee or means of enforcing seller to send you anything. Apart from having no means to credit a Bank account the seller could pass on your details to a hacker, or misuse the information in other ways.
