How about a seller blacklist so we avoid buying from dodgy dealers again?

Hi,

Bought LED lamps that are expensive but should last far longer than normal lamps, these didn't!...at £5 each they only lasted around 1000hrs  (expected to last 30 000 hrs!!) .. but as they had been ordered over a year ago seller would not reimburse (despite admitting they should have lasted much longer!)

It would be useful for us buyers to have a personal blacklist to avoid buying from dodgy sellers again....my lamp seller appears to be selling sub-standard lamps but passes Ebay rules if the lamps last the guaranteed year since order (not guaranteed Hours life of lamp)...so I want to blacklist that seller.

I'm suprised such a system does not exist....sorry if there is, but I cant find anything like in Ebay UK.

I cant find anything like in Ebay UK.

That's because there isn't anything like it on eBay.

Unless, of course, you want to use advanced search, and enter the ID of every seller you don't want to buy from every time you search for anything.

Sellers can create a blocked bidders list, which automatically prevents any buyer on their list from bidding. There's no equivalent for buyers.

You could, of course, suggest this to eBay - except that eBay's policy on suggestions is "We have a long-standing policy of not accepting unsolicited suggestions, ideas, or proposals". Honestly, eBay is what John McEnroe would have called the pits!

use Advanced up top by the big blue search button

set a search then scroll to the seller section,

change include to exclude and add the ID of any seller you don't wish to buy from

save the search

then use the saved search when you need to avoid those sellers
