Hermes and Parcel2go

I have just read a message  posted from another member/ referring to a Parcel delivered by Hermes (or should I say not delivered) and the reply he got if I may say is not quite true, he was told that Hermes have no links to Ebay, but they do.

Parcel2go is being offered as other alternative to Royal Mail a lot of sellers are using parcel2go and choosing Hermes as a delivery option because they are cheaper than all the other carrier companies parcel2go uses. As parcel2go is recommended by Ebay then they do have a link with Hermes and all the other companies that parcel2go are affiliated with surely?

If you lose a parcel with parcel2go you take your tracking ref and when you copy it into the box it will tell you it's an Ebay tracking ref and take you to another page copy that in and you will then find out who the carrier company is twice this has happened to me, tracking numbers are being given and don't correspond with who is actually delivering it, I had a right to do with Royal Mail over this, all the tracking info said RM but it wasn't even in their tracking number range!  I don't believe it's all the sellers fault, But If the postage is stated on their listing as say; Royal Mail, and they end up using another company they should tell the customer, so at least we know who to look out for when the parcel arrives (or doesn't)

I would also like to point out that once you receive a "delivered" notification and the parcel wasn't, especially from Hermes its bloomin difficult to get them to recognize the fact, because to all intent and purpose the driver has imputed the information to say he has, we are then told to refer our queries back to the seller.

The answer to this it not to use ebay postage

If you want to use Royal Mail then take your item to the Post office with the address on and a small return address on the back and the Post office will put the stamp on.

Up up to £20 and a small packet you are coverd by the code on the receipt

Over £20 up to £50 then you send tracked and over £50 it is special delivery

If you want to use Hermes of another courier then just buy off their site

Ebay postage is done through Packlink and if you have problems then that is who you claim off

So if you send through packlink and the courier is Hermes of Parcel to go then you claim off packlink

If a parcel says Delivered but you have not received then you check around the outside of your property

(In normal times you would check your neighbours)

If you cant find it then the problem is between the buyer and the courier

The seller could help but dont have to and many wont as if it shows Delivered they win any dispute
