I have been on ebay for twenty years I guess, various accounts. Have sold some expensive stuff and bought lots of stuff. I went to a business account status. I kind of gave up when they started holding on to money from sales for weeks, but I still bought with perfect feedback.
As time has gone on during the virus, I thought I'd start selling bits and pieces.
I tried to list a pair of nearly new trainers for £35.
The listing was denied, as I had not sold anything recently.
1. As a long term customer, I feel unfairly treated.
2. If you cant sell something for £35, what's the point?
3. They say I have to sell under a £10 limit before they can raise the limit.
I dont want to sell something else for £10. I want to sell my trainers.
What can I do? I tried the online process, and was told the limit stayed.
What a dreadful business model. Yes, they may need to be careful, but not with long term customers smh.
Help!
The restriction is a security measure for your account.
Many dormant accounts are used by hackers, so when eBay see sudden selling activity on one, it raises red flags, and they block the account until the real owner contacts them, to prove they are the actual owner of the account.
So contact eBay, answer some security questions, and it will unlock your account for use.
Contact them this way.
Scroll to the very bottom of the page on the link below you will be able to access eBay Customer Services via a Live Chat and sometimes there is a Call Back available. Both options will give you an approximate waiting time, it is usually only a few minutes.
