I purchased an audio mixer 3 months ago, I tested it to check it was ok when it arrived. I then put it back on the storage shelf.
2 weeks later on its forst real job it dies after 10 min. A complete failure, the thing is junk now.
The seller, when he advertised it gave a 6 month warrently so I contacted him, after many messages and videos explaining the issue he agreed to a refund but He sent me today 10% of the purchased price.
Where do I stand, does eBay and paypal cover warrenties?
No neither EBay or PayPal offer any Warranties. They are only as good as your ability to enforce them.
You had 30 days EBay Buyer Protection and you have 180 days with PayPal. You can try there, Log in and find Resolve a problem down the left hand side. Open a Case for Item Not As Described. Add in the Notes that you have only just found the Fault after trying to use it. Escalate the Case after 2 days but before 20 days.
PayPal are offering "Returns on Us." Apply for that before opening the Case.
Neither eBay nor PayPal gets involved in warranty issues beyond the MBG which lasts for 30 days past the delivery date.

The PayPal MBG lasts for 180 days (about 6 months) but again is not a warranty.

If you are too late for eBay or PayPal to support you your contract is with the seller directly.
If the seller is U.K. based and a business seller Trading Standards may help you.
If you paid by card your card issuer may also help you.
If the seller is abroad, you will have difficulty enforcing the warranty.
If the seller is a private individual, no warranty is implied
