Hey,
So I'm finding that international buyers keep purchasing identical items in a quantity of two but for an item that costs more than twice as much to post than if they'd bought one. Basically packaging up two of the item takes it over Royal Mails 2kg threshold.
In this case to stop me getting stung for the excess postage cost I could split the items up into two separate packages, and this would then match what the buyer pays me - BUT of course I'm only given one Reference number for GSP, so my question is can I split up the packages and just use the same reference number on each parcel? Will they then get sorted at the warehouse?
Thanks!
I don't think that would be a good move - the codes are one-time use and the parcels may not be matched up.
To prevent this happening in the future, you could consider blocking people from buying more than 1 item in x days. Alternatively, add something to the start price of every item so that if this happens again, you have already covered yourself for the extra postage.
