Getting item returned

My son recently sold an item, he was delayed sending it but did guarantee customer delivery before Xmas, we did keep in contact with buyer. Customer opened case with ebay & ebay refunded. Item was sent special delivery guaranteed next day by 1pm at a cost of £7.95 & buyer only paid £3.50 postage we didn't mind as was little late in sending & it guaranteed Xmas delivery. Customer refusing to return item what can we do? 

She now has quite expensive item & her money back 

Obvious by her messages she has done this before
