Fraudulent Buyer! Ebay Scammer

Buyer receives item and opens case that it is wrong size. I decline the refund as size was listed. Request is turned down but they still send item back . I try to do the right thing as I did get item back and offer refund less outward postage. They insists on a full refund. Then they open another dispute. The notification arrives in EBAY- transaction not recognised! My only option is only to give a tracking number which I dont have. Ebay says they are unable to help as it is paypal. I go to paypal there is no open case, also the initial payment was never made in paypal. Anyway this third party whoever they may be only want a tracking number which I dont have. They wont have access to the first case which shows this scammer knows full well that she received it. The only tracking number I have is her posting it back to me.

I think you're saying that the buyer opened a return request through eBay, which was correctly turned down. (As a private seller, you are not required to accept buyer remorse returns.)

EBay doesn't allow a second case to be opened for the same item. However, if you're on eBay's new managed payments system, what's probably happened is that the buyer has now opened a case through PayPal. As on managed payments the buyer pays eBay, not you, the case will therefore have been opened against eBay. EBay will respond to it by requiring you to provide the tracking evidence of delivery that Paypal requires. If you can't, you will have to refund the buyer. I'm afraid it's very unlikely that eBay and PayPal will look at the first case.

Incidentally, just to cheer you up even more, if PayPal also turns the buyer down they could still theoretically try a third time by issuing a credit card chargeback against PayPal, who would pass it on to eBay, who would in turn pass it on to you. What fun it is to sell on eBay today!
