Do I just wait for the seller to respond - how do I know if I have done it correctly?

When you buy an item then you pay for it by going to the item in your Purchase history

Then you wait for the seller to send it

Was it a postage item?> If not and a collection item then the seller may want cash on collection which is best for collection items.

I have opted to pay cash on collection. I clicked on buy now and commit to buy so presume the seller will note my genuine interest. Is this sufficient?

Yes.

The seller should contact you with details of collection

If they dont then you contact them and ask them and arrange the collection

If you have  a mobile see if there is a code for the seller to scan

You should hear pretty quickly
