I want to sell an ebike which will hopefully achieve over £4000 but I don't fancy paying 10% off the final value. So I'm just wondering how much it actually costs to sell such an item on eBay. Is it 10%?
Thank you
Why would you ask other users what eBay's fees are? It's so easy to look them up for yourself. We can't explain them all, and don't even know whether you are now on eBay's new managed payments scheme.
You can find eBay's fees for private sellers here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/fees-private-sellers?id=4364&st=12&pos=1&q..., or https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/fees-private-sellers?id=4822 if you're now on eBay managed payments.
Be careful if you're selling an e-bike for £4k. It's liable to be a target for scammers. If you're selling it for collection, try to get the buyer to pay by cash on collection, although you can't insist on this. It's seriously risky for the seller if the buyer pays by PayPal, as without proof of posting there's an easy scam by which the buyer can have the payment reversed. The same may or may not be true of other payment methods on eBay's new managed payments system. Get all possible evidence to prove that the buyer collected it.
no, it isn't 10%, it is now 12.8% plus 30p
