Faulty hoover

I purchased cleaner received it 2june  had problem with wheel popping off all the time on 16june have sent guarantee to hoover contacted them told they don't have agreement with eBay sellers so the seller should do the necessary they said Contacted seller doesn't accept this response from hoover asked if I had dropped the item which I haven't (I am a woman aged75') and in fact the box I received it in was not the original as when I stripped a label back it read"Return toAmazon ( customer return) Hermes label. Can you advise me how to resolve this problem I don't have the box it wasn't the original and was not in good condition to do so  I tried to report it to eBay and hit the wrong button saying I hadn't received it which of course ihave and don't know if they will pursue my problem, I have never been in this situation before and I now feel very wary of ever buying from eBay again

I'm afraid that by opening the wrong case you have thrown away your right to a refund under eBay's money back guarantee. They won't let you open a second one. Incidentally, you have also illustrated what we keep warning buyers about: that even manufcturers' warranties are often invalid for items bought through eBay.

Thanks for your email but he sent it on a hoover brand box but it had been
used.I did ask him why and he said the original was damaged but if I needed
one he would get one . I honestly feel I’ve been duped he was so keen to
get me to give him a good report which I did as it was just. After I had
got it can o take this further
