Faulty diesel heater

I fitted my diesel heater a month after receiving it only to find it was faulty and was pouring out with smoke. Had an engineer check not over only to tell me it is faulty and danger so do not use it. I contacted the seller just after the return timeline who said they would send me a replacement for £50. I payed £100 for the heater and it is the seller's responsibility to either send me a replacement or refund me and I shouldn't have to pay anything as the item is faulty and could cause a fire or worse. Now the seller is ignoring my message's and I can't open a return case, what should I do, surely this this can't be allowed to happen?

Using a PC/Laptop, check out PayPal case options where you are allowed 180 days to open a 'Not as described' (faulty) case, escalate the case within 2 to 20 days and follow instructions carefully to completion for a refund, not a replacement... no guarantee that the case will be accepted by PayPal but the fitting engineers pre existing fault report would be useful in pursuing the claim ... worth a try !.
