Hi there are a lot of fake 18650 batteries on ebay , i was unaware of the problem, and thought ebay was a safe place to buy batteries from but thought wrong have since learned. From the internet, a lot of these batteries on ebay are fake see below for some of reasons issue's
They are a fire hazard
Manufacturers in China repackaged old used ones
No protection circuit in them
Put smaller capacity and sized batteries inside the 18650 case and fill with paper or powder making it dangerous as there is no vent hole
They sometimes don't weigh the right amount.
Ultrafire named batteries are the worst for all this
The obvious fake is that as of present no 18650 type battery is of higher capacity than 3600mah but the average highest is 3500 mah, looking on eBay some sellers are making out they are up to 9800mah.
So after learning the information a few days ago and thus has been happening on eBay for a few years, why us nothing being done about it. As you are committed to buyer safety, and it is so obvious this is going on. It puts us buyers off, also I bought a what is meant to be a genuine nitecore charger , I can't get the scratch code to verify so have contacted the manufacturer. EBay has turned into a worldwide outlet for fake goods, also see link below as it is clearly a big issue, there is no way to tell from an auction if it is not fake, also another biggest gripe is try and find items in that are UK only if you go to seller legal information it is China again, but the area location says somewhere in uk its all right saying they have an office in China, that's where they come from hence looking at the package, thats not true uk only, can you not sort that one out, I've decided to search elsewhere for things i have found eBay not the first place to make my purchase do some homework first, but shouldn't have to, it should be a safe place.
