Exceed the amount you can list

Why does ebay state this, and how can I increase my limit? The value of the item I am selling is greater than £650.

"This listing would cause you to exceed the amount you can list. You can list up to £650.00 more in total sales this month. Please consider reducing the Buy it now price or request to list more."

All New Sellers are restricted until they have built up some history and proved that they can deal with any Customer issues promptly.
