I purchased an item from China for £48. The item was not as described by their picture (it was missing a computer card and two batteries), and had a pamphlet of instructions - all in Chinese. Apparently, these can be read and translated by a smartphone, but I don't have one.
I purchased these items (not from the seller, but separately) The item doesn't work. £48 is too much to write off to experience, so I want to send it back.
I initiated the return, and I was given a label to print. I tried several times, but my printer, which has not been used for a long time, did not work. The other option was to send it as an email, so I sent it to my son to print at work - but he didn't receive it. I took some screenshots, but their resolution is too low.
Now, the item is presumed by Ebay to be in transit, but it is not because I have been unable to print the label. The item has consequently disappeared from "My Ebay" page. I don't know how to get the page back to retry the email, and the Ebay help just leads you round and round in circles. It tells you all about how to perform the normal Ebay operations, but nothing about abnormal conditions with Ebay operations. It tells you to contact the seller (who would be rubbing his hands together if he thought I was having trouble returning his item), or how to contact Paypal, etc - but NOTHING about how to contact Ebay
The parcel has to be sent within 7 days, and two days have gone.
Please tell me what to do.
EBay returns depend on you being able to print the label you have been provided with. If you can't, for whatever reason, and you still want to return the item, you will have to pay to do that yourself, buying your own postage.
You then need to contact ebay CS to change the tracking from the label you were sent to the one you used.
They are not set up to cope with hiccups, even of their own making, which this isn't. It's meant to be a highly automated system.
