I live in the U.K. and have had three packages addressed to another Ebay user but to my address. There is a packing slip inside one of the packages with order number, eBay buyer ID, and eBay order number. The buyer returned the item, to the seller, but is of course wrongly addressed. The buyer returned by printing out the Royal Mail Tracked 48 details, and sent it in the post. But the item will not get to the seller, it came to me, another eBay user. Trying to report this to the U.K. eBay, if they can contact me through here, maybe the issue can be fixed.
I am not losing out myself, it is another user not getting returns sent back to them, due to this glitch. All three used Royal Mail Tracked 48. The first two were returned to my local post deopt marked "NOT KNOWN AT THIS ADDRESS"
They tried to call me from the U.S. but failed. Needs the U.K. division of eBay, if I can find out any email address or phone number I can possibly follow.
I doubt that you would get any useful help from ebay, so suggest you don't waste your time. They would have no idea what is going on any more than I do, and there is certainly nothing they can do about it.
There are a lot of reports of this happening, but so long as the buyer has tracked proof of delivery to the address provided by ebay he will get a refund. How or why the seller is doing this I don't know, but if he has to refund but doesn't even get the item returned it would appear to be a scam that backfires on the seller.
