Ebay fees for newbies.

Sold my first ever item making a £35 profit. Was so pleased with myself, really happy.

Then today ebay gave me my money with the fee for selling it of £35! So I made no money! **bleep**! How does that happen! I'm so pee'd off right now and sold something I really wanted to keep but circumstances said different. Yes I admit I didnt really know what I was doing but taking that amount from a sale is atrocious and ebay I hope you get some really bad karma for many yrs you greedy blood sucking pigs!

We are not greedy, blood sucking pigs. Well, not most of us anyway! There is no-one here from eBay, just other members trying to help.

The amount of profit you make on a sale has no connection with your selling fees. These are set out clearly, and are based on the total sale price, including postage.  Plus any optional, paid-for listing enhancements you may have used.

You can find full details here: https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/fees-private-sellers?id=4364&st=12&pos=1&q..., or https://www.ebay.co.uk/help/selling/fees-credits-invoices/fees-private-sellers?id=4822 if you're now on eBay managed payments.

If you think you've been overcharged, you can check by getting an itemised breakdown of your invoice here: http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/invoice-display.html.

If you still think that any fee is incorrect, let us know what it is, and why, and someone here will try to help you.

Your payments may be on the ebay 21 day hold for new sellers. Your money will be released a couple of days after the tracking shows delivered, or, if no tracking was used, 21 days later.

The only thing I can see you have sold is an item for £200 for which you should have been charged around £26 selling fees. Ebay charge 12.8% plus 30p of every sale including P&P.
