Ebay alloweda member to set up a buisiness account using false info and refuses to close it

I discovered by receiving returned goods, a user set up a buisiness account, stealing my limited company name and address, setting up his pages with my full details taken from companies house.  I informed Ebayits stolen fake details, sent them a recorded delivery letter and also contacted the Police Action Fraud unit.

ebay sent me an email stating THEY decide what is what, I am not to contact them again as they decide if its legit or not.  A month on its still trading and Ebay are still allowing it and taking their 10% commision aiding and abbeting illegal activity.

I wrote to 2 returned item ebay buyers using the return address on package, one has put negative comments stating they are using stolen identity but Ebay still refuse to close the account.

the person opened the account last year, my personal account has same address which ebay refuses to accept even though my personal account has be active for over 15 years!

what can I do to get Ebay to close this illegal account?  Why do Ebay protect the scammer and criminals?

?

I can only suggest you consult Citizens Advise or get Legal Advice.

You need to take action yourself probably with a solicitor.

That is appalling but  you are not the first one to have the same problem of someone using a companies name and even Vat number.

I assume you sent the letter too the address on the User agreement at the bottom of the page.

Contact Citizens advice and they may pass it on to Trading Standards

Problem is that those sellers are usually overseas and TS has no authority with overseas sellers

Even court action may not be possible if they are overseas.

I am not sure how you stand taking action against ebay as others have tried for different reasons in the post without success.
