HI
Has anbody had experince of using the ebay 'escrow' system? I am looking to buy a car but can not travel to view it. The seller has said that there is a way of sending money to ebay, to hold, the car gets delivered to me to inspect, once i am happy wth it, informn ebay, who then reliase the funds to the seller?
Is this correct? I have had an email from '
eBay <office@motors-safe-vehicle.co.uk>
but has gone to junk mail and red flagged as dangerous.
Any guidance would be advised.
thanks
Simon
To repeat there is no such service in UK. It is very likely to be a scam.
Would you really buy a car that you had not seen from someone of whom you had no knowledge?
Beware ! ... this sounds like the start of a classic scam ... Car will not exist ! ... anyone who makes an offer or attempts to buy through messages is likely to lose their money if they proceed with this deal arrangement ... eBay do not hold the monies/offer a Trial period/ Escrow/Collection or Delivery service for Vehicles... Do not pay anything including requested Deposits/ Bank Transfers until you have arranged a visit to view and examine the Vehicle personally. ... Unsuitable on inspection ... walk away with your Cash intact.
Cash on inspection/collection is the safest and best payment method for vehicles ...(or mutually agreed cleared and confirmed Bank Transfer after you have seen the vehicle and then the seller will release the Vehicle and documents to you) ... No PayPal payments including holding deposits should be given as there is absolutely No payment protection is offered for Vehicles.
it's a SCAM
ebay do not provide this service
