Do I still have to accept Paypal when selling items on Ebay?

I want to sell some items on Ebay without having to use Paypal.  Is this possible?  Or do the buyers still get the option to use Paypal when buying from me?

If you enrol in ebay's new managed payments buyers can still use Paypal to buy but you won't receive it that way so a Paypal account should not be necessary.  Info here:

All sellers this year will be under eBay's Managed Payments,  whereby Paypal will not be needed  for sellers to sell their items,  though buyers can still use it to pay,  if they wish.

You need to wasit for the registration to be sent to you.

Until then,  you do need a Paypal account and have this linked to  your eBay account to sell.

There are 25 million sellers so these registrations are being sent out in batches, verification of bank accounts necessary,   so it takes time,  and just a waiting game to receive that registration.  you can try and apply earlier,  my friend asked,  and was told to wait !

So after registration will I still need to accept paypal for buyers who still wish to pay with paypal? Or can I just accept the new method?

Paypal will still show as a payment option for buyers on your listings but the payment will go to eBay who will transfer it to your bank account

When you receive a payment you will never know how a buyer has paid whether by Paypal funds, credit card or debit card, it will all go in the same way into your Paypal account or into your nominated bank account when you are under Managed Payments. Those options are for the buyer to choose which is the most convenient method they wish to use to pay you, it makes no difference which ones they choose.
