Dispute in favour of seller

A seller claimed that I had sold them a counterfeit item (I haven't) so I said I wouldn't refund as the item was sold in good faith. eBay however agreed with the seller and have confirmed that they will take £54 out of my bank account although I the item hasn't been returned to me.  Surely this is theft? The buyer now has her full refund and the item in  her possession whilst I have nothing...surely this can't be right?

I think you mean in favour of the buyer.

If a buyer claims not as described then you have to deal with it

You send a pre paid label for the return of the item and once you have it back then you refund in full

If you allow the buyer to escalate to ebay because you did not deal with it then you may not get your item back and ebay will charge the fees and you get a defect on your account

You say you sold in good faith?. Does that mean there is a chance it was a fake?
