I have sent back damaged item to seller as requested for a refund. Seller has refused the return from Post Office, and is returning to me. They have sent me messages advising they have tried to refund me several times and it isn't going through. I have had no problems before with this so do not accept this. How do I get eBay to help further please? I can't see any options for this on their help pages. Many thanks all.
Have you opened a return case? If not, do so now, add the tracking number to the case details, and escalate after 3 days to geet your refund.
Tracking only has to show 'attempted delivery' for ebay to force the seller to refund.
Unless a case is opened you have no way to enforce the refund.
