Defect noticed on item with a bid

Hi

I have received a bid on a pair of white trousers I am selling, and have noticed a small stain, and am not sure how to deal with this. (The stain is not mentioned in the listing).

I will inform the buyer, who will hopefully still want them at a reduced price, but how would that work?

The ad doesn't have make an offer option.

Any advice much appreciated - thanks.

That would be a good idea, the problem is you have 3 days to go so you may get more bids yet. Will you send a message to each one?

The other alternative would be to cancel the bid and end your listing but this will accrue selling fees amounting to 12.8% of the price they have been bid up to.

Thanks for the reply. Doesn't sound good. I am tempted to say nothing. I bought them on eBay and never noticed until I came to pack them up. Most buyers are more observant than me though 🙂

I have just looked at the listing, and the stain is noticeable so think I will say nothing. It is right at the bottom of one leg, and the buyer has had the chance to zoom in and see.

At first i thought it was some shadow........if its the pair that you have a bid of £45 on that is an awful big stain and i can see your buyer opening a not as described case upon receipt if i am honest.

It is a bad photo. a large area is blue, which is shadow, and there is a small black dot close to the seams at the bottom. This is my issue.

I see. The buyer may not even notice then. I find it really hard to take any pictures without reflection or shadow 😞
