De-register as a private (individual) Seller?

As Ebay have decided that sellers can no longer accept PayPal and must use their own factoring business instead, I've decided I don't want to sell anything on Ebay. In fact Ive started to give stuff away instead using Freecycle or sell more valuable items through other channels that do allow vendors to use PayPal.

My question is, do I need to change my Ebay account settings in some way to remove the seller tools or will those simply evaporate on the 31st of May?

You can keep your Account to Buy. You don't have to Sell if you aren't happy with the New Format.

where did you hear that?

Buyers can still pay by PayPal.

Perhaps my communication lacked clarity, what I mean is that under the new system funds are held by Ebay, factored, not available to me immediately. I don't sell much but i don't intend waiting for a week for payment after posting an item. I can't be bothered with it any more.
