DOES EBAY HAVE PUBLIC LIABILITY INSURANCE FOR ID THEFT?

Hi All, this will no dought get removed but in short EBAY if they are not in the uk under uk law or your country must have a collosal liabilty insurnace for public data! Also to what ability as if ones id is stolen so your able to sue them? Also when most of us verified our accounts those years half the people working for ebay were not any wiser to the way 10-15 years ago tbh.

Point is they must be selling your ID and google **bleep**-lytics...In some countries this request is a breach of human rights and the right to have your ID private and not in the hands of some one whom i dont trust..Paypal were investigated by my bank for allowing funds unpermitted from my account/Also ebay allowed this to happen as they washes there hands//PASS THE BUCK...and the time line waiting for money is ebay is milking the interest. ! million in GBP or the EURo into currency say elsehwere is collosal ££££. FAT cat gets Fatter than before.

We wont go into the tax evasions by paypal and ebay and they paid those under corut judgement some years ago as Luxemburg tax,s fell a little short vs what the uk % was. nice interest on it for those years.

Inshort to the matter in hand i wont be giving my ID and i shall be giving ebay the wave very soon as all who i deal with i can go direct! they had firms before ebay was ebay which may i ad!!!! ONLY MADE IT DUE TO PRIVATE SALES NOTHING ELSE NOT BIG FIRMS PUSHING £££ TO WADE IN LIKE GOOGLE DOES FOR SEARCH COSTS. In short ebay does not need that ID its B/S under my law and if it had say a phone call center in IRELAND and a registered office not a virtual one shall we say. then there would pos be reason but some virtual company wants My id to sell on silk i dont think so its bad enough in the HIGHSTREET...So ebay your demands are illegal! also so is your staffs attitude when i can speak as they phones lines are looking to slim down like mmmHERMES.PAYPAL. AND THOUSANDS OF THESE nice companies pop up on the net then vanish with no trace.

If i was you i would start looking for a JOB you can whilstle from now on..anyone else do yourself justice get an account for ebay only in your bank have full control if it goes pear your somewhat protected. Gumtree is up and coming and many more atleast things in the hightstreet may return which tbh its a damn site easier getting a reund or to sort issues. ESP as they cant hand up a phone or pass you on after the 3min allowance of going blabla at you is up! MOST OF ANY MONEY YOUR OWED IS ILLEGAL TO HOLD! BACS is what we pay for so its rubbish it takes days..well in that case your interest you milk on my ££££ pays for the insane 12.5% which add the 5% luxum tax ebay coughed up adds to what was the 17.5% when ebay got cought for avoiding uk TAX.

DONT GIVE THEM YOUR ID MANY IN THE STAES HAVE SENT FAR TO MUCH AND SOME OWED THOUSANDS. if ebay has no trade for 24 hours then see how gobby they are to the USERS!!!!!!IM OFF TO OPEN A GUMTREE AND CRAIGS LIST ACC. if you support this pass it to facebook

Sorry you have the wrong end there of the stick.....Not sellers insurance but id protection of sellers ie if my data gets stolen i would sue them to the hilt! and yes i would..hence im closing my Account... esp as they just signed up with a analytic compnay to sell your tracked data and certain personal information to cause harrasment hell to us who like privacy.

Protect of DATA is governed by the ICO and various other bodies of power in the UK and prevents certain information being abused and mishandled disregarded and must be protected incl under visa protection for instance.

Do your own  research and you will see i suggest ,as thousands in america have given tons of id to ebay yet they claim its not sufficiant which is causing a massive concern for ID theft..

.BOTTOM LINE SOME OF US HAVE SOLD private items for years did all the validation stuff i dont appriciate emails after a convo with customer service not answering a question from a personal perspective. IE not some UML unified model layer of generic questions..ie a protocol on paper...SAYING we will enroll you/ or we will help you send us your ID...I have a few degrees they are the ones who need help in reading its no happening! they need help!

Why do i need to hand over all but my DNA to some firm, not in my country to be held accross the world by people who i dont trust nore are getting my Passport to end up on line for 5k after some dudes lasered coiped it.i dont bloody think so!!!

Anyhow il be closing my account and changing certain things as i now have all who i buy from there direct companies details, as many had those prior to ebay accounts.I used ebay for ease and i dont appriciate someone trying to patronise me when i speak with them on the phone when level of intelect is somewhat of a proffesional profession for 50% of my life.

Happy selling but at the end of the day its my human right to refuse to hand personal details to a company far away, not under my law and i dont trust. I do not wish to hand my data over like its some kind of trade deal...if you have ever been on the back end of ID theft or Cloned or no someone and have to go through things due to not your fault you will understand.

Ref to hold money i had a chat  script from ebay claiming they hold it and to prove it when i threatened with legal action they hit a button and the funds were in my account 30 mins later.How strange for a company who dont retain the ££££..last not least BACS is instant to a point and when you pay for a service there are certain things that should be taken into account its a paid service.

Also ebay already confirmed once paypal is out the way the payment shall be faster. Either way when a item is sold same as retail you dont leave as a rule and pop back in a few days and pay....some people in other countries are having thousands held from them..not all people have a unlimited depth of pocket. Some just get by and are selling private items as i have been from having a few hobbies from many years back.

I will closing my account as firms who dont employ staff to deal with the country it trades in from there is a massive issue. ESP when it comes to know the law for those countries and the correct attitude. Last of all how dare they demand i give my ID...can i have all the people who will see that a copy of theres?

Its my right to refuse. Its my right to close this account and its my right to enforce under my countrys law all my data is removed. Its also my right to black list any transaction in my bank from ebay.Paypal is already done.Closed and gone..one to go....

I think you must check a lot of your facts cluding your ID. If you are not going to give it why is it on this posts?

Interest !!  Ebay does not hold any money it is Managed by Adyen. I suggest you google ELECTRONIC MONEY, as that is what it is classed as AND NO INTEREST can be earnt on Electronic money.

Who ever do you imagine is selling your ID, no one can use anything without having a name and on ebay everyone is anonymous using IDs. Why would anyone pay to acquire your ID for example, when you are using it for free and it can be seen by all readers.

Virtually all ID theft is caused by carelessness on the part of the owner, NOT EBay or any other Company.

I also suggest you find out who owns Gumtree ascyou seem to know a lot about Ebay!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
