Confusion over selling fees !

I've just received payment for an item I sold for £2.99 and postage £3.10. However I've only received £5.01, therefore I've made £1.91.  I don't understand how the fees work anymore. I've been selling on eBay for around 13 years and no longer think it's worthwhile.  And also I'm only getting the funds today although I posted the item yesterday. I hate this new system with a passion!

We are all going to be under eBay's Managed Payment system,  and as they divorced / sold Paypal years ago,  there will be no going back,  this system is here to stay.

Here is a link to explain the new fees.

You are on Managed Payments, all fees are deducted on receipt by Ebay managed payments, there no additional deductions by Paypal.

Fees are 10% + 2,8 % + 30p. Almost exactly the same as before. Charging the exact cost of postage is a loser, Yo cahrged £3.10 and fees on that are about 40p so you are losing money on postage. P & P is POSTAGE and PACKING, to me that says FEES, so they get added to postage. That just leaves a deduction of 12.8% + 30p from sale price.

Waiting two days to actually see money inthe bank,  may be a pain but unless you always instantly withdrew money from Paypal nothing much has changed.

I am not on MP yet, but like many I am quite happy in the old ways, changes are only for Ebay's benefit not Sellers or Buyers.
