I was interested in an item it was collection only I offered to pay for the packaging as extra on top of the purchase price and was declined i think ebay should abandon collections as not everyone has the means to drive around the country I am very disappointed as an eBay member

Have you ever considered that not every one has the means to trail around the shops getting bulky packaging, or the physical capability to pack and wrap a bulky item.  Very difficult if you are confined to a wheelchair for example, or have 2 small children to drag around with you.

Also, there are so many scammers on ebay that many people choose collection so they can't be scammed for non delivery, or broken in the post.

Personally, If I was selling a dining table and 6 chairs, I would not want to have to get enough packaging to wrap it all up, only for the buyer to say the courier had damaged it and they want their money back.

Sellers can offer any method they like and I think it's very selfish to expect everything to be done for the buyers convenience, regardless of the hardships the sellers might have.

There's no harm in asking, but if the answer is no, then there is no point complaining, and you have to look elsewhere.
