Collection in person with no 6-digit code

Hi,

I sold an item which was 'collection in person' and the winning bidder has collected the item today.

I asked them for the QR/6 digit-code to confirm the item had been collected and they said they didn't have know what is was and couldn't find any code.

I then allowed them to take the item and now I'm worried the buyer will claim they haven't collected the item.

Please can you confirm if I have done anything wrong here?

This is the first time I've sold an item as 'collection in person' so my knowledge on the process is limited.

Appreciate any help/advice.

Thanks,

Sam

you can bypass the need for a code by using the full site, not the app

use the drop down menu next to the item and mark it as paid and dispatched

The code is only supplied if both buyer and seller are using the app.

It'll be fine, eBay will be able to see the messages passed between you and your buyer in your My eBay>Messages in which you arranged collection.
