New seller so apologies if this is covered elsewhere.
If you sell an expensive item as collection only, do you have a system to prove it was actually taken?
Read some horror stories where the collector has disputed and won by saying they never took the items / wasnt them etc?
Do you ask for a signature? Picture? Contract?
Just want to make sure I do the right thing when I sell as I have already had issues with a buyer refusing to pay once agreed.
Thank you in advance.
This is not a simply subject and a lot depends on how ou are paid. Ideally it should be Cash on Collection.
I suggest you have good read on the whole subject, by going to HELP & CONTACT at the top of most pages or bottom right of this page enter Subject as COLLECTION ITEMS.
There is a lot of information including suggestions for preventing fraudulent claims for Not received.
For non payers again enter Non Payer in Help& Contact to find the new procedure for giving Non Payers Unpaid Strikes.
Collection items should be cash on collect and not as you have it on your listing payment must be cleared before collection.
The buyer comes and checks it out and then pays in cash or bank transfer
Read the policy on collection items
If the buyer does not get the code then you can mark as Paid and Dispatched once they have been and collected by going to the Seller hub then under Orders
You can print out the ebay order form for the seller to sign
I would do one for you to sign for the buyer too

Did you cancel the first sale to get your fees back. How did you deal with that
