Hello, hoping someone can help.
Its been a drawn out process but the short of it is a buyer won my auction for an expensive bike *£2,000. This was listed as collection in person but I'd also said in the notes if they wanted to send a courier I would package the bike up. I didnt realise at the time how open to scammers doing this is.
After he won I got a lot of questions about the bike I offered numerous times for him to come and see the bike if he had any concerns but he ignored this. Then he tried to get me to invoice him via paypal so there was some back and forth about payment - he's now paid via ebay mananged payments and wanted to send a friend to collect. I said fine but his friend will need the QR / 6 digit code. He then said hes sending a courier instead and I would have tracking that way. I said sorry but I need the code and he said he'll give the code to the courier. He said he wasnt able to collect in person. I checked his address and its actually a business that specializes in shipping to Cz. I dont think he's even living the UK. He's not been open about where he lives and the exchanges I've had with him have been a little strange - my gut tells me he's going to dispute it once I've dispatched. If it was a cheap item I'd take the risk. But its not. Any advice would be really helpful. Right now I feel like I should just polite say I'm going to cancel the sale and issue a refund, stating my concerns about international shipment etc... I just dont like how this is going. Advice please!! 🙂
You're right not to like the way it's going.
Your instincts are accurate.
I wouldn't proceed with it either.
