We've all heard the term Caveat Emptor or Buyer Beware, Ebay with their unflinching support of any buyer who makes a claim, however dubious and in complete disregard of evidence to the contrary leads me to believe that we need to take up the motto Cave Venditor or seller beware. These scamming buyers seem to increase in number all the time. Ebay will do its utmost to bully sellers into giving refunds to these scammers, even to the extent of stealing money straight from our cards and accounts.
We DO NOT have to accept being bullied by ebay. All sellers and buyers are covered by trading standards in the UK. How many of us have had problems with eBay refunding buyers without any investigation, in fact to the extent of ebay completely ignoring evidence which has been provided to support our case?
We have all suffered from eBay's unfair seller policies over the years and have often been pressured into backing down. If eBay have acted unfairly there are steps that can be taken, If a seller has an issue with eBay's policy on refunding buyers my advice is to inform ebay that you will take action through the trading standards department for unfair trading. In UK law Ebay are the 'trading partner' we use to sell items while also being the 'trading company' which buyers use to purchase goods. Trading Standards will look into eBay and their actions whenever people pass cases on to them. Trading Standards are fully aware that Ebay is the single largest platform for trading scams and trading problems in the UK. And are also aware of ebay policy of giving 100% support to the buyer regardless of circumstances. If you have a problem try to resolve it with eBay first (we all know that as a seller you will get nowhere but channels need to be gone through.). If you feel they have not dealt with you correctly inform Ebay that you will be referring the case to Trading Standards. This should force eBay to take a closer look at the case and they may actually get it right once they have looked into it fully.
If all else fails and the sum involved makes it worthwhile inform ebay that your next course of action will be to apply for a judgement in County Court, when judgement is made and if the amount owed is £600 or under you can apply for a warrant of execution from County Court.
Judgments over £600 can be transferred to the High Court for enforcement, and often the High Court Enforcement Officers offer a transfer up service if your judgment has been obtained in the County Court.
Ebay will not want the hassle and expense of arguing the case before a court and are highly likely to refund you without delay.
Just remember, regardless of what bullying tactics ebay may try, you have rights under UK law. Please exercise them

“Well I never, an absolutely typical 'expert' response, regardless of how accurate or otherwise you believe the statement to be it comes as no surprise that you stopped reading. You are simply an ebay drone, put here to deflect any criticism”
I said that as soon as I got to this statement I stopped reading as it's completely inaccurate.
Your statement being - "All sellers and buyers are covered by trading standards in the UK. "
It's not what I think, its inaccurate.
Anyhow since I've come back to respond I read a bit more until I came to your claim that trading standards will investigate eBay [Trading Standards will look into eBay and their actions whenever people pass cases on to them.].
I stopped reading again as that's also completely inaccurate.
"All sellers and buyers are covered by trading standards in the UK. "
As soon as I got to this statement I stopped reading as it's completely inaccurate.
Well I never, an absolutely typical 'expert' response, regardless of how accurate or otherwise you believe the statement to be it comes as no surprise that you stopped reading. You are simply an ebay drone, put here to deflect any criticism while at the same time providing no useful help or advice to users whatsoever. Just for you I shall skip the part which you do not agree with and get straight to this: Many sellers have had problems with eBay refunding buyers without any investigation, in fact to the extent of ebay completely ignoring evidence which has been provided to support the sellers case? Many have suffered from eBay's unfair seller policies over the years yet ebay shows no interest at all in the TRUTH simply choosing to take the buyers word on every occasion. So please explain Mr community 'expert' Whydoes ebay ALWAYS take the side of a buyer regardless of any evidence the seller provides?
PS Please refrain from simply stating that the above is not the case because it most certainly is
