Can I add a buy it now price after a bid

I'm selling an item on eBay and it's attracted 40 watchers and one person has submitted a starting bid. Can I now add a buy it now price or is this option blocked. 

I'm trying to highlight the fact that 40 people are watching my item because it didn't  show up 40 watchers when my daughter viewed it.

only the seller can see the number of watchers on an auction

and you can't add a buy it now after receiving a bid

No,  once a bid has been placed,   no Buy it Now price can be added,  no offers accepted,  the sale has to run on in auction style in fairness to the other bidder(s).

Anyone sending in an offer now,  can be kindly invited to bid along,  and join the auction with the others.
