We are new to joining eBay and based in NZ. I created an account and started browsing immediately (we are looking for quite specific vintage items).
We found two items listed by the same seller, and eBay allowed us to buy and pay for one with credit card and the second item we cannot buy due to a buying limit. I cannot change that status, I have linked our PayPal account, added a credit card and I still can't buy anything!
It is also impossible to contact eBay, and I can't work out how to do that. Any other hints please to remove this would be great. We don't have a buying history and are good for the payments, the main reason is because we're new I suppose. I am desperate to buy this item before the ad closes, both had buy now.
thanks.
these are the UK boards and you [this account] in New Zealand, best log into your designated site - https://www.ebay.com/
eBay place this initial buying limit on items for new sellers as they wish to first see that the person is a good eBayer and will pay promptly.
It is to stop newbies getting carried aways bidding and buying many items, and then not being able to pay. This causes delays for the seller to retrieve the immediate seller fee which was paid, and to be able to relist their item.
You could try and contact eBay Customer Services go to help & Contact tab top of page. They may increase your buying allowance, no guarantees.
