I sold a item and the next day the buyer said they had bid on it by mistake and wanted a full refund but i had already posted the item with royal mail.

This is the mail i got in my ebay messages off the buyer

Hi I have realised my error in this purchase. I need a transceiver and this item is of no use to me. Please can you cancel this transaction and refund me please. I'm so sorry, I dont mean to mess you around. Please let me know
Regards

The buyer as now put a (ITEM NOT AS DESCRIBED) claim in against me because they wrongly bid on the item and won and i am expected to pay  £20 postage for the buyer to send the item back . I am closing my ebay account  and i have 1172 posative feedback since June 2011, Selling on ebay is just not worth the risk, Everything seems to be against the seller. Friends had warned me about this and now i  have learnt my lesson. Never again ebay.

I think you should first try contesting or appealing this decision in the buyer's favour.

EBay's policy is that when they are unable to determine that an item was as described, they will support the buyer. As they never even see the item it's rare for them to know whether it was as described, hence the buyer almost always wins.

In fairness to eBay, for the above reason they will have almost rubber stamped the buyer's case, and probably not even attempted to read any of their messages to you.

If you appeal, yours might be one of the rare exceptions where they can see from the buyer's messages that this is buyer remorse, and an abuse of eBay's money back guarantee.

For everyone's sake, give this a try. If eBay still finds in the buyer's favour, we shall know that theres's no hope for sellers on eBay!

Do please let us know what you do, and the outcome.
