I've sold a large item which was listed as collection only. The winning bidder asked if he could pay cash on collection and for my address. I asked for Paypal payment and advised I wouldn't give my address until payment is received, but (s)he has refused, saying (s)he won't pay until (s)he has seen the item. Who is being unreasonable - me or the buyer?
If you list itdms for collection during this crisis then you have to be prepared for people to come to your house yo collect it. Normal rules apply, you can't give out your address begore the buyer has bought the item, but you would be advised to take cash on collection, after they inspect it.
So you have a buyer, you accept their cash on collection. You can quarantine the cash if you don't want to touch it immediately.
The buyer is helping you here, PayPal for collection items is a bad idea for a seller.
Invite buyer in & make them a cup of tea, OH DAMN! can't do that the moment.
Cash on collection is best way, no paypal fees & buyer can't claim a problem after they leave with itm.
They come & inspect item, if happy pay in cash or you send cancellation if they don't buy.
collection items should be paid for in cash,
you need to give your address and suitable times for them to collect,
but be very careful and make sure you keep your distance from each other etc
