Buyer wants a full refund.

On the 14th of October I received a £240 best offer for a cement mixer and arranged for the buyer to collect on the 15th.

 The listing was:

BELLE MINI MIX 150 110V VOLT CONCRETE CEMENT MIXER.

In very good used condition.

All works as it should.

Collection in person only from XXXXXXXXXX

The buyer arrived on the 15th and inspected the mixer, he asked if I would show it working and after seeing it working then asked if I would take £200 cash as it was a bit dirty???

As the listing had now ended, I reluctantly agreed and he paid. The option was available to pay with paypal on his phone but he said no he was happier paying cash.

The following day he gave me positive feedback.

On the 31st October a full 17 days later, I received a message from the buyer saying

He had got some bad news that the mixer was dead stating it had been overloaded in the past and needs a new motor which is £200 to replace!

He continued to say he was going to raise a complaint with eBay and would like his money back.

Doing a search on ebay I have found a second hand motor for £60 and it a very simple DIY replacement so not sure how he can say its £200 as I also found a complete new replacement motor including all the casing and switches for £125.

Since the first message he has sent one every morning counting down the days till he opens the case with ebay what I have found rather intimidating.

I have 100% positive feedback and I’m not trying to scam him, but I don’t know what to do.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks
