Buyer's own courier - collection code

I've recently sold a couple of high value items, where the buyer has organised their own courier to collect.

I would strongly advise getting the 6 digit collection code from the buyer before it is collected, and enter it onto the system shortly after collection. If not you run the risk of your payment being withheld/withdrawn by eBay and the buyer denying collecting the item. Take photos or a video of your packed item, and of the courier collecting it.

If buyer arranges a courier this takes the item outwith any protection from eBay.  Cash on collection is best; no comeback.    The 6 digit code is not always present so buyer's courier could simply deny knowledge.

Taking photos etc is of no use with eBay though might help with a police non-investigation
