Bought item, wrong thing sent

I bought an item, got a parcel but its the wrong item. Sent it back (asked what way, was 2nd class ok or 48 hour...low value so they said 2nd class was ok)... now they say it hasn't come back yet...and they're waiting for return before they send my item. As they have still not sent my item, I want to claim for it not arriving but then I cannot get my postage for the return. They keep dismissing me as not having received the return. How long should I wait? If I do a claim for not received then I cannot get the return postage for the other item back... is there anything else I can do? Or how long should I wait? It looks like it was delivered but it wss the wrong item....will that count against me?

never had a problem like this in all the years of doing eBay so didn't know the process. My fault I guess.

Hello...

To win any Ebay or Paypal case for item not as described....you must return the item by a tracked means to prove delivery or attempted delivery back to the seller.   This tracking number needs to be added to the case details.  Proof of postage is not sufficient.

Without a proper tracking number proving delivery ...you will lose any case.

All you can do is try and make a claim for compensation from Royal mail for losing the item.
