Blew up!

I purchased a cigarette lighter to 3 pin UK plug converter.

It blew up the second time I used it and fried the internal workings of my Samsung S4.

The seller has offered to replace the faulty item but I want a refund, and compensation for the damage to my phone.

The seller is totally ignoring me now even though I have (politely) emailed him twice.

Ebay will not do anything to get you compensation for your phone.  The only thing they will do is get you a refund for the faulty item. Open a case for "not as described.  Do not dispose of the item as you will need to send it back.

If you want compensation you will have to persue it outside of ebay - small claims court perhaps.
