What is the significance of the various 'stars' at the side of a bidders (red;grey etc.) ?

They are for the number of feedback received:

Yellow star 10–49
Blue star 50–99
Turquoise star 100–499
Purple star 500–999
Red star 1,000–4,999
Green star 5,000–9,999
etc.
