I've just won't an auction for the amount I selected as my highest. Throughout my the seven day auction, around 12 bids came in and price was $40 heading to the final minute. I bid my highest $112.12. Until the last second, I was the lead bidder at $46. I'm confused why I've now won the auction at $112.12. It all seems odd to me. Why exactly $112.12? This was an obscure amount. How did I not see it increase theought $50s, $60s and so on. This dosn't sit right with me.

Because an earlier bidder didn't bid in round figures, but made a bid ending in .12 (cents?). Most experienced bidders bid amounts that end in a few extra cents/pence, as this can be enough to beat a bid placed as a round figure.
Once any leading bid ends in a few cents/pence, this is likely to continue as eBay's bid increments are in round figures, e.g. £1, £5, £10 etc.
Sound as if someone had a higher bid.
If they put a bid in then it goes up in increments
