So I see ebay have had another brain wave, easy returns, now on qualifying items that do not match the description or are damaged the buyer can return them simply by initiating a simple return through ebay, no need to contact the seller at all.
ebay keep spouting on about how customer service is so important then effectively take that out of sellers hands as well, I sell cheap items and if the customer thinks the items does not match the description or is damaged my policy is to ask if they want a replacement or their money back. Now there is a third choice that I deliberately avoided as it just costs me more money and makes work for the customer, they return the item, at my expense, and receive a full refund, and at the end of the day the customer still has not received the item they wanted without either more expense for me sending a replacement, which I won't be doing if they go this returns route, or the customer having to buy another one.
To add insult ebays latest offer to sellers (in the uk) £2 maximum selling fee per item till the end of the month, the selling fee on my items is around 30p, and every time I go to my selling account there is the banners pushing that in the way, gee thanks ebay your generosity knows no start.
