So - although you do not answer my question - I'm guessing that you did not open a case with eBay. If that is correct then - rather obviously perhaps - eBay will not help. If in future anything goes wrong you must open a case and pursue it as soon as practical
All is not lost.
If you used a tracked method of carriage and it shows "attempted delivery" or "delivery" then you should be able to open a case with Paypal. Go to the transaction in your account and open a case for "return" or "not as described". Input the tracking details and escalate the case after 2 days and before 20 days. You should get a refund.

Well although you may have sent something back did you actually open a case through the resolution centre?
Simply sending something back does not do it
