20% uplift to win bid and postage

Hi - I won a bid on goods on a personal UK to UK transaction, but when I went to pay, both the bid price and the postage have been increased by 20%.

Chatbot AI was useless, as usual, and sensed I was getting frustrated when I swore at it!

I eventually got through to the Indian "call centre" where Priya informed me it was because of Brexit!!

Looks to me like eBay IT have rolled out a 20% VAT uplift intended for non UK to UK transactions but have not filtered it for internal UK to UK.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Check location of seller (not item)  I suspect they are non UK, so you pay VAT on top.

Unless Gloucester have declared independence from UK they are definitely in the UK
