20% Vat between NI and GB

Hi everyone.

I have a question regarding 20% VAT being added to my items.

I sold an item recently and my location is Northern Ireland. The buyer told me they got charged extra for VAT and he is from England.

Why is there 20% VAT being added even though we are both located in the UK?

Because your account is registered in the > www.ebay.ie < Ireland site (EU/International) which triggers the 20% VAT fee if either party is based or registered outside the UK.

Thanks for the link. I've done that already before I started selling anything. I guess I'll have to ring eBay customer service tomorrow to see if they can do anything for me. Thanks for your help!
