10% fees seems too much

Hi,
I was wondering if I'm the only one that thinks 10% of buy it now total fees is somehow in extortion. I have something for sale that is around £600 and eBay will take £60 off that. Why not 5%. Does anyone know who I can contact to file some kind of complain about this to support private sellers because 10% isn't supporting at all I was just thinking that a 5% would be more fair + PayPal is a 3.5% which is about right. In total for that transaction of £600 eBay and Paypal will take 13.5% which is £80 and that sounds pretty heavy to me considering that I paid the item £700. I can't go below £600 and if unsold I would keep it or try gumtree.
I would like to get some thoughts about this matter thank you
Harry

You don't have a complaint so you'd be wasting your time. Ebays site, Ebays rules.

If you think it's too expensive find another selling platform with the same amount of potential buyers that is cheaper.

Have you ever tried an auction house ?    Up to 25%, plus VAT, and the buyer gets charged too which is reflected in the amount they bid.

Who do you think you can complain to ?   Ebays fee structure and Ts&Cs were made clear before you joined, and you accepted them.  You have nothing to complain about.

eBay fees are well below the cost of a brick & mortar auction house & has far more members viewing than any other site

10% is lass than half the fees charged by them, and both buyer & seller pay feen in an auction room

Add that in most cases there is no fee for advertising & the 10% is reasonable

If you think it too high then sell elsewhere

Paypal fees are nothing to do with eBay & are a standard charge when you accept Paypal for sales in any site.....they are fees for banking, card clearance etc
