I consider the items to be auctioned and those that are successful with their bids should decide on which charity that money should go to.

What about the British Heart Foundation? They're helping people beat the UK's biggest killer - Coronary Heart Disease.

Or another organisation: the NACC (National Association for Colitis and Crohn's Disease). This affects 1 in 400 people in the UK, ranging from children to adults.

Our 5 year old nephew, Gabriel, died of leukaemia last Christmas and I would like to nominate the charity Clic. They were great to all the family, their work is priceless.

I think the prizes should be auctioned even though i probably wouldn't be able to afford the high prices which they will make(more money for the needy).I also think that the proceeds should be split between 3 charities,a childrens charity,an animal charity and a charity for adults.The charities should be in this country as this is ebay.uk.

I would suggest that unclaimed prizes can be donated to Francis house. Its a childrens hospice in Manchester.

It is well known for the little girl, Kirsty, who is trying very hard to raise funds to secure its future as a Hospice for children.
The Hospice receives no funding from the local NHS or Goverment so all the money they have is fund raised.
All these funds are used to help the children during there last weeks/months/years of life to be as happy as possible by giving them makeovers, trips out shopping etc.
I think and probably plenty of people reading this will agree that the prizes could be raffled and the money raised could go towards the 5 million target they are trying to achieve, Kirsty then could be proud of all her hard work knowing that the target has been reached!

mrs FL - My son was born at 25 + 0 weeks - weighing 1lb 12oz and is now 4 years old and I can honestly say that without the dedication of our neonatal unit he wouldn't be here today,
He did a sponsored alphabet test in the summer and raised £500 for a charity that helps all childrens hospitals in the north west by raising money for urgently needed items, we are so proud of him and felt we needed to help repay them for their dedication.
Working in the neonatal units must be so hard as well as being very rewarding.

I think any childrens charity is worth helping out! Maybe auctioning is the best way of distributing the unclaimed prizes, as i can see the charities doing more good with the money rather than the prizes.

I don't think there is enough money or prizes to go round all these worthy causes. Ebay will just have to decide which charity to donate the prizes or money to.

I work for a charity which gives gifts to children who have been victims of crime - a simple way to let them know that there are nice people out there who care about the traumas that they have had to suffer.

We are running very short of money and help as many as 50 children and their families each month. Since the charity was set up we have given gifts to the value of over £1m nationwide.

I suggest everyone take a look under your Christmas tree and realise how lucky you and your family are.

Next, take out your cheque book and write out a cheque to your favourite charity. If you don't have one, look on this thread and I'm sure you will find one.

Remember to GIft Aid it as they will receive 28% more from your donation.

(#93 Thats fantastic 🙂 I don't know about the others who've been through it but every year on her birthday I always get emotional. It's stupid, she's health and she survived, but I can't help myself and burst into tears at the slightest thing.

I hope that they pick a few charities but I hope a SCBU is on the list aswell 🙂
