Community Forums will be Unavailable on Thursday Morning

This week, we will introduce the new Community Hub and upgraded eBay discussion boards. More information about this project can be found in our previous Announcement here. http://www2.ebay.com/aw/marketing-uk.shtml#2005-02-28183221

You should also be aware of an additional Scheduled Board Outage.

What you need to know:

- First, early in the week you may start to notice changes to the eBay navigation bar (the header at the top of the page) when you are using some of the Community pages. These changes will be complete over the next few days and will make the Community navigation bar consistent with the rest of the site.

- Next, the discussion boards and other Community forums (chat boards, Answer Centre, and eBay Groups) will be unavailable from midnight on Thursday 3rd March for up to ten hours. As the migration to the new platform progresses, some of the non-discussion board forums may be available early.

- Finally, on Friday morning after the Boards Update is completed successfully, the new Community Hub and updated discussion boards will be available for members to use. All active discussions will be restored and available to use once again.

Hi

I read that the US style boards were carp and that no big pics or animations were allowed. I have just been for a wander over there and found this may not be the case.

THis may be the only thing that I might say about this...

this board is now just like the american forums ... it was and still is the most user unfriendly forum I have ever seen ...

You know what the old saying is ... IF ITS NOT BROKE DONT FIX IT!

so much for animations now ...

lets see if the spaces actually so up instead everything being run together ... that would be an improvement ....

NOt a happy camper ... will give it a go however you may lose a lot of people off the forum because of the changes made! ...

also in the process you have taken posts and changed numbers ...on many of the threads that have been keeping records and such ... not that it wasnt already happening -the point is why were they changed in the first place ...

THere are a few learning threads that the information is now gone ...

Perhaps the next time you all want to make changes you could ask your custumers what they want ... I am not opposed to changes some changes are good ... however ... to open a thread that used to open on the last page and then have to click on the last page to get there thats a bit redundant... especially an active thread ...

I may be the only one who voices thier opinion and I am entitled to do so ...

also the boards are a bit harder to read now ... you almost cant tell when one thread ends and the other begins ...

i agree rad...

however Pssst has been given back their posts inside the thread although i almost had a heat attack when i saw 9,000 on the front page.

Also it feels a lot slower...

i hope we don't lose anyone...i've become accustomed to your faces

Have to agree with you Netta, it's pants. I know they are working on it at present and that's why it is slow, well i hope so or you can forget me coming on here from home as dial-up will mean i can redecorate the house whilst waiting for one post to appear!

Ryan is so unhappy he's even dissappeared off his own thread 😞
