Ernie.. The Fastest Milkman in the West.

My dad was a milkman; I don't think he was the fastest in the West though. I use to help him and in those days you even delivered on Christmas Day. I was up early on Christams Day like most kids, but not to open presents, but to go to work with my dad. Use to get home about midday
It was brilliant
Ermintrude - Can you work that one out?

Wow, even delivering on Christmas day, that was unknown in my part of the world, that I can remember anyway. Maybe it did happen.
Lovely memories for you with helping your dad, his right-hand man.
I remember getting under the car with my dad to help. I played tunes on the underneath parts with a spanner.. Thing is once I went in on my tum, got my skirt stuck, and shouted HELP at the top of my voice.. My dad had to pull me out by my drawers.
My ribs are aching here laughing at the memory.
Ooo, was Ermintrude on a cartoon?

You're not the only one laughing
First time I drove a car was when I was helping my dad on the milk. I was 13, the car, a Hillman Imp, was in the car park. He gave me the car keys and said go and sit in the car whilst I cash up. Fancy giving a set of car keys to a 13 year old. I had driven the milk float before that though.
Ermintrude was the cow in The Magic Roundabout. My favourite progarmme when I was about 16, I mean 6!!!!
