A Treasure Hunt Poem from Highlander100
"Boys and girls spend all day searching eBay"
"Boys and girls stay in to play
Spend all day, searching eBay
Leave your supper, leave your sleep
All the Hunters are going to weep
Clue Elf's driving us up the wall
We're not going mad at all
As for food we have had none
Sitting here with a sore bum
Searching searching searching and scour
There are two cams every hour "
The romance of the Treasure Hunt
"Morning honey, what's today's prize?"
"I've discovered the hunt doesn't only effect the hunters! You have my husband hooked too, let me explain...
Every morning his good self leaves for work in the wee small hours, and he returns past teatime, so we phone twice a day, once in the morning, conversation (past) as follows...
(Hubby) ""Morning Honey, how's it going today, are the kids being good?""
(Me) ""Morning, all good hon,, how was the drive?"" (admittedly some mornings are a little different, more along the lines of ""how could you leave me here every day with these gremlins, I'm running away"" kids,, you have to love them,, right?? but I digress)
However,, the last few days sounded more like this..
(Hubby) ""Morning Honey, what's the prize??""
(Me) ""I'm busy searching, for gawds sake don't phone again, don't forget to ask everyone you see what they think of when you say 'cracker',, bye!""
Nice and romantic, hmmm!
And of course the evening, ""I'm on my way home now"" call has turned into ""why didn't you win it?? I could do so much better than you!"" (yeah right sugar, wanna try? )
So my eBay story involves romance, desperation, and a much reduced phone bill! You know what, I'm loving every minute... Thank you eBay, Good luck to all the hunters, and happy Christmas everyone!!"
Jobolster wins an iPod
"All those years of maths classes didn't go to waste"
I loved the competition. I won an iPod yesterday (YAY!) which is something that I've wanted to get for ages. I got the 'Pi' clue which is great as it means all those years of maths classes didn't go entirely to waste. Not too sure why I decided to check the auction prices for the £3.14 but hey, I guess that means my whole lateral thinking bit is improved and I didn't even realise.
And anyone who hasn't won something yet: there's loads of prizes left and the excitement that you get when you win is great (granted, my feeling probably wasn't as great as the person who won the mini cooper..... but it's still good lol)
Good luck, have fun and try to remember to eat and sleep (.... maybe each day should have a break in them where nothing is up for grabs.... give people some time to sleep lol)
Fabypink and colleagues drive office visitors mad
"Our boss rings in everyday for the clue"
I've been a avid fan of the eBay treasure hunt. My colleagues call me, and Hannah80blue, eBay entrepreneurs. We work in the accounts department for a small construction company in Nottingham. We sit all day thinking about answers to the clues. We've now involved the whole office - everyone that comes in or rings, we say "Hey, eBay's clue today is Cracker". We're driving them mad! Our boss is now ringing everyday for the clue. I woke up this morning and screamed to the four walls - "It's Crackerjack!" we used to always say at school: "It's Friday, its Crackerjack!". I just hope I get better. Its taking over - everyone is hooked! Long live the Treasure hunt.
Treasure Hunting is a Family Affair
Many hands make light work for darkangelmax452 who has recruited members of her family onto her Treasure Hunting Team.
“Me, my mum and sister sat at the computer for 5 hours trawling through our ideas, although some were completely wrong including (stab in the dark) at the time it was an idea silly now though. But we did get the 1655, unfortunately it was at about 5.30pm this afternoon. So we ignored our house work and children (at times) But everything is still ok so we will be back tomorrow so watch out peeps.”
The days are flying by for smashincool
I only noticed the treasure hunt at about 8am this morning. I’ve been on my PC for hours since then - at every chance I've had. I searched for "1655" and "Jack Frost" earlier in the day but unfortunately was busy when the listing went live. Nevermind! The whole day and evening has flown by thanks to eBay. My backside is numb from spending far to many hours on a very old computer chair, and my right arm is aching from holding my mouse; my finger tips are sore from typing all manner of words that pop into my head; my head is banging and my eyes are really dry but it's not putting me off staying up that bit longer to see the clue at midnight. Then I suppose I had better be off to bed so I able to get up early, get the kids off to school and start all over again searching for new answers. This is great - I'm addicted!
